Dear Crafters, Because of ongoing health issues, the difficult decision to cancel Craftfully has been taken. We apologise for the short notice, inconvenience and disappointment. We will be in touch soon with refunds. Thank you for you support.
Head to Newcastle for a crafty weekend!
14th and 15th September '19
Designed by makers, for makers, Craftfully is a carefully curated experience for lovers of fibre and textile craft. Craftfully is an ethical, sustainable and independent community event that celebrates artisan makers, indie dyers and boutique retailers. Entry is free.
Don't miss workshops by MaryAnne Moodie, Jane Milburn,
Lisa Mattock, Kasia Jacquot, Dominique Trad, and more.
Plus retailers Raxor Yarns, Gum Blossom Yarns, Jackie Fink, Pirate Purl Yarns, Tempest Textiles, and more.
Craftfully aims to inspire creativity in young and old alike!
There will be workshops designed especially for children and teenagers and some that would be perfect for parents to join in and share the joy of making with their children.
If workshops aren’t for you and your kids, come along and enjoy the free hands-on demonstrations and installations. Join in with the Timeless Textiles Makers Group, which is making fabric flowers to help support Ovarian Cancer Awareness or perhaps your children would just like to come along and meet some sheep!
Craftfully has gathered together a fabulous line-up of expert tutors. Whether you want to learn weaving from internationally renowned tapestry weaver Mary Ann Moodie, brush up on your knitting techniques or indulge in some slow stitching,
Craftfully provides you with the opportunity to get making. We will be offering everything from full-day, immersive workshops to a free hands-on activity that might take a couple of minutes!
One on one support tuition will be offered in knitting, crocheting, spinning and embroidery. These must be pre-booked and run for a minimum of one hour. This is a perfect opportunity to crack that pattern you don’t understand or the stitch technique you haven’t yet conquered, and is ideal if you’re an absolute beginner.
Market stalls & installations
Craftfully is bringing a wide range of specialist retailers to Newcastle. This is your opportunity to buy directly from the makers and even growers!
Craftfully includes Bellevue Park, Millpost Merino and Rosabella Threads, all primary producers of sheep and mohair goats. There will be indie dyers and yarn producers, embroidery threads, textiles, ceramics and jewellery.
Everything will be independent, ethical, sustainable and quality. Whether you’re looking for a beautifully handmade piece or the supplies to make your own, Craftfully is sourcing the best to bring to Newcastle.
Food stalls & live music
There’s nothing like a great coffee and a snack to go along with your making and Craftfully will be making sure you’re well looked after. A variety of local caterers and food trucks will be providing healthy, nourishing and delicious delights for all.
Live music will be a feature of Craftfully throughout the weekend.
Expect fashion parades with an emphasis on upcycling and local style!
